Republic of Bohol

Bohol is known as one of the best tourist destinations in the Philippines and I finally understood why when we chose this island province as our family’s summer destination this year.

The Chocolate Hills of Bohol

We only have two days and one night to spend but the tour operator and boatman I have contacted have prepared for us a two day itinerary that allowed us to visit all the major destinations in Bohol. Here’s our two day Bohol itinerary:

Day 1

1. Blood Compact Shrine
2. Butterfly park

We arrived in Bohol at 3pm on May 16. Our first stop was the Blood Compact Shrine followed by a visit to the Bohol Simply Butterflies Conservation Center

3. Tarsier Interaction

There are several commercial shanties along the road that allow people to see the tarsiers. We stopped in one of them to see one of the world’s smallest known primates, the Philippine Tarsier in Bohol

6. Chocolate Hills

I had difficulty going up the observation area of the Chocolate Hills but we had a better view of the chocolate colored mounds on top. Kulay was so excited when he got on top he called his grandfather just to tell the latter he finally saw Bohol’s chocolate hills.

The Chocolate hills is known as one of the natural wonders in the Philippines and a visit in Bohol must include seeing the famed brown hills

7. Python snake
8.Clarin ancestral house in Loay

9.Bohol Firely Watching Tour

Day 2
1. Dolphin Watching

The main reason why we went to see Bohol was to see the dolphins. You can see dolphins in other places in the Philippine and abroad but as trained captives. In Bohol, you get to see wild dolphins in their natural habitat.
