It is inspiring that Filipina actress Sharon Cuneta Pangilinan is promoting reading among Filipino children. The megastar is reported to have been very effective in promoting and marketing commercial products and I really hope that her reading advocacy can really make a difference among school children.
Sometimes it saddens me to see children reading books upside down. I believe too that some children only get their hands on books when they are in school. Poverty might be one reason why the parents of these children cannot afford to buy them books. …
