Yahoo news featured today an article about Christian Dior pulling out all ad endorsements of Sharon Stone all through out China after the actress reportedly made a negative and hurting comment that the China earthquake which already killed thousands of Chinese is a “karma” for the Chinese policies in Tibet.

It could have not mattered much if the statement was said by “some” American but this was mentioned by an actress which resulted in much gravity to the situation. This also shows why celebrities should always keep watch of what they do and say: they are always watched and it is inevitable that they influence some of their fans with what they set as an example. Celebrities, I believe, should not be just conscious about what people say about them, they should also think about social responsibility. They should always remember that people are affected and influenced by what they say and do.
