Many health advocates promote colon detoxification because cleaning the colon is said to be beneficial in improving the body’s ability to break down food and absorb vitamins and nutrients. Many also claim that colon cleansing is helpful in eliminating wastes and toxins that are stuck in the body. Because of this notion, many colon cleanser products have become available in the market.
Of course, colon cleansing is also possible by eating fiber rich foods such as fruits and vegetables. Fiber aids in achieving better bowel habits which helps in the regular elimination of body wastes. Foods rich in fiber include apples, bananas and green peas.
