Entrepreneurship and Getting Small Business Loans

I have already previously blogged in one of my previous posts that hubby and I wanted to have an internet cafe business, a venture we longed to have ever since our child was only barely a year old.

The other day, hubby was telling me about his income for the past 7 months that his photocopy and computer center has been operating and he was actually proud of it. He was also telling me he wanted to open another photocopy and computer center near schools and universities in the near future. Of course, a good wife that I am (hahahaha) I fully supported his idea. The idea of us putting up a photocopy and computer center and not an internet cafe does not mean we already abandoned the idea of starting a net cafe. It is just that we do not have the necessary capital to start a really good net cafe business with a considerable number of new computers to offer to our customers.

Like us, there are a number of people who really wanted to get into entrepreneurship. One of the greatest obstacles it seems is the lack of starting capital. Some cooperatives here in the country offer loans to business owners.

Were you successful in getting some capital? My fiancee has a small salon in Davao and it’s in need of some ongoing operating capital. It’s a catch 22 situation - we need more customers on a regular basis to pay the bills and for that we need to create greater awarenss through advertsing. To get more advertising we need money…. and so it goes.
I have been unable to find a source of cheap funding for SME’s in Davao. I have spoken with a couple of Banks but thier documentation needs are huge and their process is, like most banks, very drawn out.
I’d be greatful for any leads or information on where business people can access low cost, low document business loans in DAvao.
    Thanks

By the way, if you or any of your friends or relatives are looking for a good hairdo (male or female), perhaps the best massage in Davao, a manicure, pedicure, etc., then pop in and see Jacqui and the team at Gady’s Salon in Legaspi Street, Davao.
Mention my name (Quentin) and we’ll organise a special discount for you.
