It was quite a shame and a shock when people learned that teenager Jamie Lynn Spears was going to have a baby (and she did gave birth recently to a baby girl) but teen pregnancy seems to be a goal among some teenagers in Gloucester where currently, there are 17 teenagers younger than 16 years old who are expecting a baby. Reportedly, the girls admit entering pregnancy pact and were happy when they learned that they were pregnanct.

I honestly find it odd that young girls would be entering into a teen pregnancy pact to raise their babies together. Worse, a homeless 24 year old guy is reported to father one (?) of these babies. I may not know the reason why these girls made a decision to become mothers at such young age but I do hope more schools worldwide will start incorporating lessons of “responsible parenthood”. With what happened, schools should not just teach the basics of sex, reproduction and birth control. These lessons should actually focus on what responsible parenthood really means. This, I believe, is the reason why sex education is being taught in many schools.
