Google Encourages Adsense Publishers to Help China Earthquake Victims

The big G is not evil :-) Aside from helping adsense publishers earn extra revenue if not considerable income from their websites, the company is, in fact, also encouraging its adsense publishers to help the victims of the devastating earthquake that hit Myanmar and China.

The adsense blog encourages publishers to contribute a portion of their adsense earnings to cyclone relief efforts in China and in Myanmar. The organization is also reportedly giving more than $1.5 million in the relief and rebuilding operations.

This is quite a good idea but the problem is that adsense publishers cannot just deduct their monetary donations directly out of their adsense earnings because the payout is through google checkout which requires a credit card. Some adsense publishers do not have credit cards that they can use. Paypal donation is neither an option because google checkout can be considered as a competitor of paypal.

I hope Google will do something about this. They can provide a button in the adsense panel that will give their publishers option to donate to charities. This will make it much easier for adsense publishers to help others out of their adsense revenues.
