Havainas, Beaches and Brazil
I already liked the Havaianas even the first time I saw a pair of it. The designs and prints are so nice to look at and of course, you can wear a pair of havaianas without worrying about water. There used to be a time when the popular sandals and flipflops that people wear are those that you can’t wear at the beach or you need to remove if you want to wet your feet. Worse, your feet get this really bad smell when these sandals get wet even accidentally. I used to prefer wearing those twenty pesos spartan flipflops than wearing those “fashionable” sandals. It is therefore a relief to see people wearing fashionable and rubber made havainas flip flops. Too bad, I never expected that a pair of havainas can actually drain my pocket.
Havainas flip flop fanatics always connect the flip flops to Brazil. It is because these flip flops are made and originally sold in Brazil. These flip flops are perhaps made to withstand water pressure because Brazil is actually laden with tourist visited beaches. Copacabana in Rio de Janeiro, for example is one of those beach Property in Brazil that tourists tend to visit because it is reportedly one of the ten best beaches in the whole world.
