This is a brilliant idea. I , for sure will participate in this competition , so wait for my entry. I have lots of ideas to make the Philippines a better place to live in and therefore I am in a dilema on what subject among them I should put my entry on.
well, what will I do as a senator is very simple. I’ll start with the basic one.
Last election, there were downpours of promises. Now, people don’t need them anymore.
They want the answer and its realization .”)
If I were a senator, I would start off by laughing my a__ off for being voted in the first place. Philippine politics has yet to reach its maturity in it’s selection of its candidates. You have actors, athletes, sons and daughters of prominent politicians running… I wouldn’t be surprised if religious leaders would follow suit and run too. Heck, they would have “God” as their campaign manager. How can they lose? Following all trends in politics, sex bomb Jopay may have a chance of winning too.
if i were a senator i’d propose a law prohibiting the laderrized tuition fee increase in students…. (i think the reason is self expanatory, al least to a student)
If I were a senator I would create and implement bills to help and alleviate the poor out of poverty by focussing my attention on what they need with regards to jobs, education, healthcare, housing, livelihood, peace and order and dignity. One way of achieving this intention is the creation of an advisory council comprising of respectable and credible individuals in the community from leading civic leaders, entrepreneurs, bankers, high-flying OFWs, effective government and non-government officials working together with a common purpose and goal of ending poverty in the Philippines. It is a national disgrace and shame that 70% of Filipinos are living in poverty knowing fully well that our affluent conglomerates are spending vast amounts of money in their businesses all over the country in order to amass profit and wealth at the expense of the poor. The wealth of the country should be fairly distributed and give what is due to the poor. Job creation could be achieved through the efforts of governmental programmes of building more schools, more hospitals, more community services and other service industries, more roads and bridges, more infrastructure projects and tourism industries. Creation of a Philippine National Health Service offering free hospitalisation and medicines as well as community healthcare services to the poor including children, the elderly and low-income families. Affluent pharmaceutical companies could be approached for their help to realise this endeavour. Creation of more quality public schools and libraries to educate our children after all the youth of today will inherit the hard work that we will do today and will be responsible to make the Philippines a better place to live in the future. Free access to Information Technology using computers through government initiatives as well as sponsorships from our major banks who must be making millions of money from their bank profits through their customer services. Creation of job centre advisories where job-seekers can search for jobs locally, nationally and internationally suitable and appropriate to their qualifications and experiences. It would be triumphant for every Filipino when one day in the future they go abroad not to find job but instead a “career” move. Creation of livelihood centres where people can find information on what business prospects they would be interested to do with the help and advice from leading entrepreneurs. Creation of “Neighbourhood Watch Schemes” wherein members among neighbours will take responsibilities in maintaining peace and order within their communities with the help of identified law-enforcers as well as a voluntary “Citizen’s Advice Bureau” for people who need professional advice to any aspect of life they may find problematic with their lives. Encouraging members of neighbourhood associations to take interest in the proper disposal of household wastes and make their surroundings clean can play a vital role in making the Philippines as a tourist destination adding revenues to the government’s coffers which in turn can be used to create social services in the community as well as building low-cost housing for the poor. All these factors could be achieved through building stronger social cohesion which is already innate in every Filipino commonly known as the “Bayanihan Spirit”. When I have done all these then I can say that I have done my part to the best of my ability for mother Philippines and all for the glory of GOD.
ERASMO CAMPOS MALLILLIN
[...] (About this article) [...]
Hi Maybe we should rethink our question to the senators… The Platform of Government relates to those running for an administrative position such as LGU heads or local chief executives. What Legislators such as Senators and Congressmen have shaould be LEGISLATIVE AGENDA based on the platform of government his/her party has.
If I am elected as a Senator, I will assassinate Tito Sotto, Angara, Osmena, Joker Arroyo, Tessie Aquino-Oreta because they are all trapos. Everytime you craft laws that will conflict the interest of a stronger entity, you will just swallow your principle. Only the president can change the gov’t. Yung mga tao wala na. Imagine mo mga generals at head of state e sa Pegasus, Classmante or AirForce One nagcoclose ng deal. I graduated from UP Diliman, incorporated a company with 50 employees but ended sharing my stock and flying abroad bec I cannot stand the system of corrupted bidding and wrong ways in the business. Sana si Ingkong, Gokongwei, Makati Business Club at si Ayala e mag-unite to start assassinating the corrupt govt official. Yung Hongkong police me nagawa sila e… 10 yrs from now our country will still be the same …a changeless land that is…mayayabang sa bisita… mahilig sa imported …mukhang lagay
If elected a senator I will author a bill against the bill of Sen. Pangilinan; protecting the minors. It only escalated criminalities using the minors. It worked against our policemen.
Dear Fellow Citizens:
I am writing to let you know that it’s high time Winston Garcia is fired from the GSIS for he is running the GSIS, a service agency, to the ground with his Gestapo-like tactics in implementing the failed eCard program. You may think he is no Gestapo, but he acts like one because of the deleterious effects of its implemention.
He is ruining people’s lives since pensioners are not getting the money the government owes them. The GSIS, which is tasked to promote the well being of pensioners through the state pension fund, is doing exactly the opposite — and to do it to the pensioners in their twilight years is plain and simple criminal if not immoral.
Attached is a blog devoted to this issue. It started with the untimigated disaster that occurred in New York City last March 9.
THE TOTAL MELTDOWN WAS WITNESSED BY A NUMBER OF AMERICANS WANTING TO INVEST IN THE PHILIPPINES AND ARE NOW HAVING SERIOUS DOUBTS.
If this could happen to pensioners in the U.S., how much horror must their local counterparts be experiencing? I did some research on the Internet, and I have had enough of Garcia’s lame excuses. He is destroying people’s lives, and IT IS TIME FOR GARCIA TO GO.
Attached is a blog devoted to GSIS incomptence. Please share with as many people as you can until Garcia resigns.
http://pierceram2.blogspot.com/
Please pass this on to as many people as you can to create a groundswell for his exit from the GSIS. Pressure must be brought to bear upon Macapagal Arroyo to make her realize that it will be politically expensive for her to keep supporting Garcia.
How can a nation move when the government doesn’t have the power over big businesses and corporations? How can Juan de la Cruz survive and regain his dignity if he is just getting paid less than P250.00/day? The government should have an iron hand and force all big employers to pay the minimum wage of P500.00/day, maybe…just maybe, the lives of the masa will get better. Or they can’t force these big corporations because it will hurt them? Is it because majority of our politicians are the owners of these corporations? It’s hard to believe that these politicians drive around in P2M SUV’s and the people who placed and voted for them could not even afford slippers? How can they sleep good at night when you make millions and can’t even give back pennies to your constituents? Pakapalan na talaga ng mukha at wallet.
An honest opinion: Wala nang pag-asa ang Pinas. There’s only one way to do it. And I heard this from an American who frequent the country to do business. He stated” The only way for the country to survive and compete with other Asian nations is to Assassinate the Three (3) generations of Political Families” The Grandfather, The Father and The Sons & Daughters of all Politicians.
I have been listening to all interviews, podcast of the senatorial candidates in this coming May 2007 election and none of them have actually mentioned on how are they going to fix the problems in the Phils. All parties have no clear platform on how to fix the problems i.e how are they going to fund changes to education, health and etc. In their interviews the candidates keep on saying they will help the poor and improve the economy, but how? The current situation and economy of the Philippines is reflected on our policitians experience as they don’t know what to do. I can give our politicians and government a hint to make things easier, copy other countries policies i.e Australia. I’m not expecting to copy everything but policies that will help the Phils a lot.The politicians must all also change their attitudes and set example.
Hello my dear fellow filipino people!
Watch up for my entry this exciting forum, IF I WERE A SENATOR.
Meantime, I just want to exalt your souls. I have read some of the opinions above and it seems that they are losing their patience; their temper is as high as the price of our basci commodities. Just be relax guys! There is still hope. Think possitive and do possitive. hayaan nyo ang ating mga lider kung di sila paawat sa kanilang kasakiman. All I can say, wag nyo na silang gayahin pa. Being the opposite of what they are is really a big thing.
IF I were a senator I would CREATE A BILL PROHITING WEAK CANDIDATES TO RUN FOR PUBLIC OFFICE. The so-called “at-least-can-read-and-write” rule will be totally junked. By this means anybody who cannot speak the English language -which is also considered as official language of the Philippines- well will be prevented from going to congress or senate. Otherwise, if a person like Manny Pacquiao win as congressman, who is tasked to create and pass and understand the laws, how can we expect him to make a law for the people. How can he be understood if he is using the language of his OWN choice?
simple lang.. abolish the pork barrel .. tingnan lang natin kung may tatakbo pa sa susunod na eleksyon…
It is very ironic that deposed President JOSEPH ESTRADA - who is charged with plunder - is calling for a revolt against poverty and CORRUPTION in one political ad of the United Opposition. I can’t understand why the opposition chose Estrada to speak for them. Although he is not yet convicted I don’t believe that he is credible enough to speak lines asking to curtail corruption.
If I am a senator the first thing I will do is espouse the full computerization of our national and local elections.
This will ensure that the true votes of our countrymen will not be wasted.
And this will save our country lots of money spent during the actual elections such as redundant Quick counts, too many administrative costs, and of course, this will be a deterrent for those unscrupulous candidates to buy votes.
Of course biometrics , wi-fi internet, microsoft and oracle technology…
PArepareho lng kayong lahat!!!puro kayo satsat!!! PAti kayo wala rin naitutulong….. KAla mo cnong magaling!!! cge kayo net!!!jejeje….
If I were a senator, I will pass a bill suggesting a nation with a state religion. This is the reason why there is always turmoil in the minds of men because they don’t their God. The churches of today encourages that every men should kneel down to idols which is abomination to God. This is why we have no peaceful life in every endeavor because God’s annoyance is in us. Let us do away with the so called freedom from religion. Let us go back to God - each and every one of us. And God will heal our land and make it fruitful, thanks that the catholic priest are becoming few, these are the responsible of the curse of God - they let people kneel down to an idol. After we go back to God, God will lead the way and make all these things smooth for His glory.
If I were a senator, I am a Godly senator. And will fight for the glory of God.
If I were a senator, I will teach people not to be corrupt. Man has no reason to say that a politician is a corrupt, why, because he sold his vote. He let these politicians to be corrupt. After all these things..I can say that my tenure being a senator is fruitful one. I can say to my self, I have done my share, my responsibility God has bestow on me.
