Kulay’s 3rd Birthday at the Crocodile Park

It is quite an understatement to say that my son Kulay is interested in animals. His first words included the “pig” (ouch!) and he used to love to mimic the sounds of the chicken, the dog and even that of a whale. Sabi nga nila, support your child’s passion so when Kulay turned three in 2006, Jenkins and I decided that Kulay would celebrate his birthday in one of his most favorite places in the entire world– the Davao Crocodile Park.

I still remember that Jenkins and I went to the park’s admin office to ask if we could have our son celebrate his third birthday “with the animals”. They agreed but we were told that we can’t bring balloons for safety reasons. We were also lucky that the Riverwalk grill is free on Mondays and we were told we can use the place to serve food to our guests.

I wanted the celebration to have an animal theme but it was just so difficult to find animal themed lootbags and I didn’t know we could request for a custom design at goldilocks then so we settled to a spongebob theme party “with the animals” :-) .
