Upgrading your wordpress version do have some advantages and disadvantages. Your site is supposed to be more secure when you upgrade to the latest version but you also get to meet some compatibility problems and issues when it comes to wordpress themes and wordpress plugins. So far, I do not have any problem with the plugins that I am using because they seem to all work fine with the newer versions of wordpress.

The problem I have is with the theme that I currently use. I have always eyed on using the Options wordpress theme when I was still using WP 2.1 and right after I upgraded my blogs, I decided to use the Options theme in most of them. The theme works fine with my other sites but there seems to be an issue with my other sites.

Making changes in my widgets and theme options is not as easy, for example, because I still need to go to my design- theme dashboard and activate the default wordpress theme Kubrick then activate Options theme before I can see any of the changes that I have made. Unfortunately, this is tedious and I become too impatient sometimes while trying to make my site look much better.

I am already considering the idea of using another magazine wordpress theme. One that is as beautiful and easy to use as Options (if not for the problems that I have with updating and tweaking). Of course the theme should also be compatible with wordpress 2.5. So far, here are some of the wordpress magazine themes that I have seen online and which are compatible with wordpress 2.5:

I like this wordpress theme and have in fact already installed it. It looks very nice even with ads in your blog’s homepage. What I do not like with this theme is that it is quite laborious to edit some of the elements that are found in the homepage.
