I have been thinking of purchasing a custom banner for one of my niche blogs, JobzOnline. Jobzonline looks terrible with its set-up. I just used an available minima template from among the blogger premade templates and my blog has lots of ads and reminders-to-subscribe in it. It is quite ironic that my ugliest site actually brings me most of my adsense earnings. Jobzonline.blogspot.com does not also have its own domain but it now has 117 subscribers. I am therefore considering to give my site a makeover particularly giving it a nicer banner or perhaps a custom made template.

A few months ago, I blogged how I wanted to increase the number of my subscribers from the stagnant 53 to 100. My feedburner shows I have surpassed the target by 17 more feed subscribers. Aside from spamming (lol) and making the necessary changes in my invitation to subscribe widgets, I have been updating my site regularly.

Too bad I cannot yet think of a really good blog contest to motivate people to link to my site and subscribe to my feed. Other sites are giving aways rewards or sponsor contests to encourage people to join and register. People, for example, can register to win a new iPod shuffle at Camera World Auction,  and other blogs are giving away free e-book to their new feed subscribers.
