If there is one person who has kept on asking hubby and me when we will renovate our house, it is our four year old son Kulay. Kulay has been comparing our house and his great grandmother’s (Jenkins’ paternal grandmother) house to our house. Our son complains that our house do not have color, it has no “flowers” and is not actually “beautiful”.

I used to wonder why my son would be looking for “flowers” in our house. Yes, we do not have a decent flower garden (we do have a large patch of area for a vegetable garden though, thanks to Jenkins’ maternal grandmother’s landscaping styles. She plants ampalaya seeds together with the Santan and grows papaya tree right in front of our gate and in the clothes’ drying area) but my son is actually looking for a flower inside the house. Also, my son hates girly things (pink things, dolls) and flowers should supposedly be a part of those girly thing list.

Later, I realized why Kulay wanted “flowers” inside the house. He is not actually looking for a flower in a flower vase. He was actually looking for flower patterns in walls. He told us that he wants a brown room with flowers and my hubby has finally explained to me that Kulay wanted to have a room that looks the same to Mr. Bean’s room (yes the character of Rowan Atkinson) which is color brown.

So it seems that we will be needing a brownish liquid latex paint (or a green one? The cartoon uses a green wallpaper) for Kulay’s room and some “flower” patterns too. We will have Mr. Bean’s room in our house.
