Kulay was not his usual self last Thursday. My son loves to run and play around in school but he complained about getting exhausted easily when I fetched him from school. He also complained about his jaw aching so Jenkins and I suspected that our son might have gotten a tooth infection for eating lots of chocolates even after the Christmas season.

I brought Kulay to his dentist by Friday but the dentist told me Kulay doesn’t have a toothache or infection, he has a “bayuok” (mumps). A visit to another doctor confirmed that Kulay indeed has mumps.
MMR Vaccine and Mumps
My son Kulay had an MMR (Mumps, Measles, Rubella vaccine) but it is just unfortunate that he still got the mumps virus. The pediatrician told me that this happens sometimes.
Mumps treatment: Cure for Mumps
The doctor told me to give Kulay Tempra forte to alleviate the pain and an antibiotic. Kulay’s grandfather also told us to apply this aniel-vinegar mixture thing into the infected area.
I’m just happy that my son is not whiney despite that his mumps aches and causes him fever. He even agrees to let me take pictures of him:
