I have read about google adsense two years ago, signed up for a google adsense account in the last quarter of 2006, made a blog, made two to five posts, left my blog and did not earn a dollar from my adsense account. By December last year, I already lost hope that adsense is for me, most especially I have read other bloggers say adsense is not for everyone and I totally discarded the idea of earning from adsense.
By February this year, I was searching for an article on the Philippine elections but I was disgusted to see that the only source of information I have is wikipedia, totally editable and not owned by a Filipino. I decided to blog about the 2007 Philippine elections. Because I have been intrigued why others always say wordpress is better, I opted to create my blog in wordpress. I did not think about earning from my blog, all I wanted to do is provide a good option for sources of Philippine election articles and infos. I was actively blogging in my Philippine election site for more than a month when I have noticed some sites are using my articles without permission. Some indeed cited my name as source but if you look at their site more closely, all their articles are grabbed from other else’s sites, they do not have articles of their own and to top all that, their sites are filled with ads!! I felt so bad because others earn from what I have toiled. By March, I started to monetize Philippine elections 2007 (blogspot) which was supposedly created to provide infos such as platforms and background of candidates. I studied how other sites place their ads and learned adsense optimization tips. I also revived one of my old blogs, JobzOnline. On the second day I placed the ads on my active site last March , my adsense account registered some clicks and earnings, and viola, after 3 months, here’s what I received just the other day:
… oh, I intentionally blacked out the amount for privacy reasons and my address for security reasons, hehe…
