How do you raise a healthier family? By serving healthy and nutrient-packed foods. Unfortunately, this is easier said than done. The rising cost of living has had many poor families resort to feeding cheap but unhealthy meals. Children are also known to be picky with their food and often refuse to eat vegetables. With this in mind, the National Nutrition Council (NNC) XI launched the Nutri Pinoy Henyo Series, a project aimed at addressing the need to improve the nutritional condition of Filipino families.
Low Cost Vegetable Dishes
Recipe development contests kickstarted the launching of the Nutri Pinoy Henyo Series at the Ranchos Palos Verdes Clubhouse, Maa on April 27, 2012. The contest aims to introduce healthy vegetable based recipes that are easy on the budget. Recipe entries to the Low Cost Vegetable Dish category are set to be included in a recipe book for distribution to the beneficiaries of the government’s Pantawid Pamilya or the Conditional Cash Transfer program administered by the DSWD.

Davao International Fusion Cuisine and Table Setting
The Davao International Fusion Cuisine contest aims to introduce recipes that fuse ingredients indigenous to Davao/ Mindanao with international cuisines. Recipes from the Davao International Fusion Cuisine and Table Setting will be included in a coffee table recipe book in commemoration of the 75th Founding Anniversary of Davao City.
