At last, renewing and applying for a passport in the Philippines is now much easier. Passport application through the DFA Passport Appointment System by Internet is now available for Filipinos.Through this online passport application system, people who want to file passport applications can set an appointment with the DFA via the internet instead of waking up very early to be able to transact for their passport in the DFA offices or pay for more when availing the help of travel agencies.
The DFA Passport Appointment System is initially available for
- those whose passports have already expired;
- those whose passport will be expiring within the next one year; and
- senior citizens
The DFA appointment system will reportedly be available to all passport applicants in the future.
Passport applicants can apply for an appointment by sending a request to [email protected] with the following details:
• Full name (first name, middle name and surname);
• Date of birth;
• Place of birth;
• Latest Passport Number and Date of Issuance
Passport applicants will then be sent a reference number and a confirmation which will include details of designated date and time for the filing of the passport application at the DFA-Passport Office.

Well base on ur case u dont need SSS ID, best requirement that u should have are Schools IDs nung elementary ka and yearbook. kc they just want to make sure na ikaw tlga ung taong un, ofcourse alam mo na cgro ung ibang requirements. teka i think ur stilll minor. kelngan mo pa ata ksma ang parents eh kc minor ka pa dbah. so if nagapply ka take ur parents with u just to make sure. either ur mom or dad. thanks

If im not mistaken DFA appointment is only valid at DFA manila lang. sa mga province branches naman ng DFA its either u have to call them or go walk-in sa branch then apply for ur passport. sa dfa manila naman if u really need to rush ur passport for some reason make sure that it is a valid reason and u have the proof that u need to rush it. kc kung wala kang proof they wont assist u they will tell u to set an appointment online then apply on that date. The proof is like a letter stating that u are eligible to get a rush passport. so aun goodluck po. Base on my experience nman i got a letter from the embassy which is stating that i will have my interview sooner so i should have my passport done as soon as possible before my onterview date at the embassy. so thats why DFA assisted me when i get there.. u can do it girl. Otherwise kung nsa province ka u can contact or find the contact numbers of the nearest branch of DFA there in ur place.

hello there jeff, well dfa has a new procedures of applying new passport, you can go to their website http://www.passport.com.ph tapos magpaappointment ka for ur sched yan na kc ang new processed nila Epassport so u have to go online and set an appointment for urself.. then print out the confirmation letter para ipakita mo sa guard sa aseana bldg. na ang dfa sa my mcapagal if im not mistaken, malapit sa MOa. hndi nagpapapasok ang guard kung ala ka appointment schdule,pero kung meron naman thats a good thing,but if urgent ang passport mo u need to have a letter from the agency where u applied for or whatsoever na letter stating that u really need a passport urgently. make sure its reasonable.. aun po, u have to have complete documents for getting passport,like NBI clearance,NSO birthcert.,old IDs like schhoold ids coz helpful yan tlga..kung wla naman get Postal ID,then anu pa ba. bsta punta ka lng sa website nila na bngay ko sau. andun lhat ng answers sa question mo. ok po goodluck, ill have mine on may 17th. I want to ask regarding renewal of my passport. I am already married but since I convert to muslim, is it possible to use already my maiden as in our religion it is not allowed for a muslim wormn to stay with a christian husband if he did not convert at all.

Check mo uli ang NBI clearance mo, remember ko kasi when I applied for an NBI married nako, single name ang nandon. i’m not sure kung maka apply ka ng nbi as single kasi nakakuha ka na ng married Nbi clearance diba? Better call NBI and ask na lang para sure.

If you have 2 months here sa pinas, I think enough na yan to renew your passport. Just make sure to apply as soon as you arrive. 14 days lang naman ang philippine passport processing.

I think DFA only processes your passport when you have already made a personal appearance so this means you cannot follow up your passport yet sa DFA kung hindi ka pa nakapag personal appearance. Follow up your agency. If they can’t give you a schedule yet, kunin mo na pera mo and look for other means to apply for a passport.

I wonder bakit ang tagal ka namang bigyan ng appearance schedule ng agency mo sa DFA. In my case kasi, I was given my schedule as soon as I sought the help of my agency. I think you better find a better agency, if they are already messing up with the schedule it’s not unlikely they will mess up in other passport related stuff too.

DFA advises green passport holders to get a brown passport before 2010 because some countries by that time may no longer accept green passports in their borders.
Your green passport is valid until 2012 but if you do not want to get into trouble with countries that may no longer honor your green passport by 2010, renew your passport ASAP.

I did not have any digitized ID when I applied for a passport. Honestly, the reason I applied for a passport is to have a government ID hehehehe go ahead with your 1 id LOUIE, if the DFA does not accept that ask them the requirements and tell them it is impossible to get other goverment and digitized IDs these days. The processing fee may depend on the agency. We paid 1500 to our agency while another agency charged my friend 3,000. I only submitted my NSO marriage certificate, I was not required to submit other marriage certificate copies.

I guess, yes. I think pede mo gamitin ang maiden name mo kasi sa requirements naman ng DFA ang sabi “For married women, who want to use surname of their spouse…..” so merong option.

Those with negative birth records are usually advised to get a copy of their birth certificate from the local registrar where they were born. This will be forwarded to the NSO. In the case of your parents though who were born before 1950 better check with the DFA or the NSO.

According to this agency, DFA needs a copy of my Marriage Contract from NSO and a copy of the same authenticated by the Local Registry or in the Philippine Embassy here in abroad where I work. Gusto ko lang pong malaman kung talaga po bang di na valid ang passport valid up to january 19, 2011 for visa application to Saudi Arabia kasi I was ask to renew para up to 2013 ang passport validity ko… In contrary, according to the consular of Saudi sa website nila, atleast 2 years valid passport where in January 19, 2011 is exactly 2 years at over 2 years pa valid ang passport by this date… meron po bang instance na baka pwedeng maconsider na mabigyan ako ng visa at within 2years eh saka nalang ako magrenew?

Since yours is a special case, better ask the DFA about it. I am sure that they have a solution to your problem. If you badly need to get a passport before 2011, then you have to tell DFA about what happened.

DFA accredited agencies will merely assist you in your passport processing, they will not “make” the passports for you. yOU STILL need to go to the DFA for personal appearance.

Ma’am, I’m in the US right now and planning to let my family join me here. My two kids who are still minors need to secure their passport. I have someone inquired from DFA (Cebu) the requirements one of which is my affidavit of consent allowing my husband to secure their passport. They said I will have the US embassy sign the said affidavit. This becomes a concern right now cause the closest US embassy is two-hour drive from my place and I can’t possibly take a leave of absence from my work. Is there any other option that you can suggest?

Postal ID is a valid ID. It would be better though if your mother prepares an NBI clearance and baptismal certificate. They are the easiest document to get.

I haven’t applied for any foreign visa yet so I am not sure about the requirements. Nevertheless, if your concern is that your green passport may not be accepted, green passports are still considered valid until their expiry date. I believe you can renew your passport earlier but better contact DFA about this. Hindi lahat ng passport application ay maa aprub regardless online ka mag apply o pipila ka sa DFA. I think no worries naman kung ma comply mo naman ang requirements. BJ please read the post above and go to the link mentioned. If you are doubtful the courier will accept those “minor” documents, I suggest you apply via an agency or the DFA instead.
Cheeking, make the DFA know about the correction, they can give the advice.
Seneth, if your passport expires on 2011 then I believe you can still use it. Just inquire from the DFA if you want to renew your passport at a much earlier date.

The studio may comply to all DFA photo requirements but it is still up to the DFA to approve the photo or not. You can have your photo taken at the studio but make sure to bring extra money for a new set of photo in case it won’t get the nod from the DFA people.
It will be better if you have your photo taken by the studio near or endorsed by the DFA. Many studio pics do not comply with DFA photo requirements.

good morning! ma’am i went to a photo studio to have my picture taken so i could renew my passpost, but the people at the studio said, ‘its useless to have your picture taken ’cause the DFA have their own cameraman, i ask them ‘how about the mobile team?’ they also answered that they have also bring cameraman with them’. thanks for the link. I am not sure if there is some sort of courtesy lane for government officials. If the travel is related to your dad’s function as a government official though, your networks at the DFA or related agencies may help expedite the processing.
I suggest you verify with DFA nalang if the 7 days application is indeed doable. I hope you can also update us with the details.

Birth Certificate (BC) in Security Paper (SECPA) issued by the National Statistics Office (NSO)
3 photos of the applicant taken against a royal blue background
Proof of identity / Supporting documents indicating full name, date and place of birth and citizenship (IDs, transcript of record, baptismal certificate, etc).
If applicable;
Marriage Contract (MC) in Security Paper issued by NSO
Death Certificate of the deceased husband (widowed wives)

Hi Mam, we have the same problem before. I advise you to inquire n your City Civil Registry & ask for correction of name. It would take 45 days for you to get the Authenticated Birth certificate from NSO, or you may call the NSO hotline.

The new passports from the Philippines, are “machine-readable passports which use biometrics or special electronic information chips imbedded with security images on the laminated data page.”
Fake passports do not have these features. Some fake passports, however, appear really authentic because they have really been issued by the DFA but the data has been changed. Using passport reading machines seems to be the best way to identify fake passports.

Honestly, I believe some DFA people may not even know online application/renewal of passport already exists. Isa pa, marami pa rin internet illiterate sa Pilipinas including those who have already gone abroad kaya siguro ina assume din ng mga dfa people that Filipinos will still prefer “lakad dito pila doon” passport application.

It will NOT be possible to get a passport in 7 days Rakel. Minimum is now 15 days. I am not sure if this has also changed to 25 days (one travel agent just told me a week ago it is now 25 days).

ang alam ko talaga lahat na ng dfa agencies ngayon sa Manila na pina process ang passport. Parang na i centralize na ata sa Manila ang pag gawa which explains bakit wala na one day processing ngayon. Ang alam ko part din ito ng effort ng government to combat fake passports.

I wonder why in Iloilo DFA they are sending the passport to Manila for the renewal, why dont they advice to go for online application, all the reasons, Malfunction of their machine readable. they are all inutile people.
To my concern, why this Passport agency become more slower toproces for its a machine readable compare to the writnng system.
If today they can make it by 14 days, how much more delays to have in by year 2010, since we are the only country doesnt comply the machine readable passport, the always reason, we dont have enough machine or the people itself int the Philippine Passport Office has the tatak utak pinoy talangka.

As far as I know it is 15 days, just the same when you apply for a passport through agencies. Wala na overnight processing ngayon because the DFA is now stricter (fake passports you know).

May mga agencies na nag pa process passport. Usually they charge around 1500 for a 15 day processing. I cannot attest for any agency pero usually meron mga agency sa mga malls especially SM. I believe more likely ay accredited ang mga ito ng DFA.

Willie, Filipinos are only allowed ONE (1) Philippine issued passport. Magkakaron ka ng malaking problema pag nahuli ka na dalawa ang passport mo. 15 days ang pinakamadali na passport processing/issuance sa atin.

For online passport applications, visit passport.com.ph. You will pay PhP1,500 total, they will pick up the documents from you, schedule you for a personal appearance and will ship the passport to you.

It will be best if you call the DFA or related government agencies as they can do something about your concern.

I would like to report the following persons who are using falsified documents and false identities such as passports, birth certificates etc., The following are Ms. Ma. Victoria Balase Orale AKA Marilou Villanueva and Sarah Orale Pajenago AKA Elena Villanueva with present address at 321 Andrea Village 2, Panapaan 5. Bacoor, Cavite.
Mrs. Sarah O. Pajenago are now planning to leave the country for London as tourist and she is planning to find a new job in that country. She is also recruiting persons and will also be using falsified documents.
While Ms. Ma. Victoria B. Orale is also planning to leave the country for Israel using fake name again.
The above persons have so many complaints not only in their area but also to those people that they recruited.

As far as I know you have to report that ASAP to the DFA. Ideally within 6 months after your passport has been issued to you.
i have a question,i’ve got my passport but there a problem on my middle name how can i fix that thing and where? tnx.
Please check the DFA site for developments but as of the time this article is written, the system is available only to the following:
1. those whose passports have already expired;
2. those whose passport will be expiring within the next one year; and
3. senior citizens
which means that no new passport application is processed via the appointment system yet.
I also like to know if theres an online application for new passport applicant. Pls notify me too to on my email. Thank you!

as far as i know, the online passport application is limited to those renewing their passport.
