Updated August 9: The official price of globe for the 3G iphone plan is as follows:

The prepaid price of the 8GB 3G iphone is P41,899 and and the 16GB costs P48,899.
Those who want to avail the iphone from Globe may reserve for it now as the release date in the Philippines is scheduled August 22. Those who want to pay for the iphone through 0% 12 month installment may use the Citibank and HSBC credit cards. Check out the globe site for more details.
I was checking the philmug forum today and I realized the iphone 3G may not be much cheaper than the first generation iphone. The speculated price of iphone 3G in the Philippines by some of the forum posters is between 20 to 25 thousand pesos. The price may even reach as high as 30 thousand pesos for those who want to purchase the new iphone under prepaid plans.
The US market price of the new iphone starts at 199 dollars but this will be under a contract with AT&T. The iphone 3G will be officially released by Globe Telecoms and will be made available for both prepaid and postpaid globe users. Knowing how expensive cellphones from Globe are, I am not yet sure if I can afford to buy the new iphone 3G.
i owned an iphone 3G 32g and its easy to use. i want to sell it contact me if u are interested 09325498240….
I never been current the latest cell phones. But after my sister showed me the iphone and ever since I’ve been preoccupied with knowing about them. I can’t wait until the presale for verizon.
iphone 3G will always be my best phone, it is fully packed with features and it is very easy to use ;
i love the iphone 3g compared to blackberry or even the google android phone”*.
the iphone 3G looks cooler and stylish than blackberry-*~
iPhone 3G is a great phone but i wish that they could drop the price;,,
I really don’t want to pay for an iPhone unlocking program. I found a free one here: http://softunlock. com
Actually….Nokia or other brands of phone cannot reach the level of APPLE because apple focuses on the phones apps and games…giving new and fresh addition to the already great app selection of the iPhone..NOKIA doesn’t really pay much attention to these stuffs…even now.. n97 has a ton of bugs and not a lot of apps and games to go around with….
The processor is labeled as just a bit newer model number however it and the GPU are likely the same speed since the 3GS. The old Contact using the similar CPU and GPU as the 3G was quicker. Besides having the clock pace turned up greater the Touch has much less software programs to run since it is not a phone. It ought to defeat any iPhone to day in overall performance.
last year me and my brother bought an iPhone 3G. it is a great phone with lots of functionality and great styling too.
the first batch of iPhone 3G was a bit pricey but now the price is more affordable than before. I bought two units of iPhone 3g and i am amazed of this phone.
iPhone 3G is simply the best phone that i have owned. It is very stylish and its nice features. I also own an N97 but i like the iphone.
pano naman ako nakakasiguro na maganda yang iphone nyo eh ang mahal pa $199 nlang po
mura nlang yan
iPhone 3G is best phone ever released. it has great styling and has nice cool features that is why i like it so much.
Iphone 3G is so packed of features and it really looks cool too. I own one iPhone 3G and i am planning to buy another one for my girlfriend.
I would rather buy Nokia N97, Sony Erickson Xperia or other touch screen phone. Rather than this phone
I would defineteley buy apple 3 GS in the U.S were price is fair and then goes to the cell phone shop ( in greenhills) when im back in the philippines that could unlock. I have many friends done that thing already. Rather buying this at globe, and infact not all areas in Makati/ Philippines are hot spot that you could use the wifi. Its very limited.
the iPhone 3G looks very cool and feature packed. i will be saving some of my allowance to buy that phone.
Haha, nakakatawa naman ang mga tao dito. $199 is contract price. Plan yun!! LOL! Sa globe nga FREE eh @ plan 4999! LOL
i dont get it.. why 3gs is so expensive here in phils..when i searched for apple iphone U.S, it’s only $199 for 16gb 3gs..thats only almost 10K in peso..

yohanz,
hi there uhm i was wondering where did you unlocked the iphone 3g? thats 500 pesos right, hollar back at me thanks,… need to unlock mine too ihaving a hard time finding a jailbreak in the net thanks
I personally see that iPhone 3G 8GB would be priced between 8K-12K 16GB would be between 13K-17K.
Wow Yohanz, that is really cheap! This means that there really is an iphone 3G blackmarket. Gee… I hope I can find one that sells for less than 300 dollars, I checked out ebay.ph and the locked iphones cost 50,000 pesos!!
My bestfriend bought me 2 b/new iphone 3g in new jersey last week for about $250 each (blackmarket price) very cheap indeed but i need to unlock it here in manila and it only cost me around 500pesos.
Hi Archie,
The prices I have mentioned above are just speculations. Globe is offering the iphone 3g to prepaid users which explains the price. Maybe Globe can subsidize for the cost of the iphone 3g but only for those subscribers paying more than $100 a month. Unfortunately, many Globe post paid subscribers are under 50 dollars a month. We even have this 100 peso a month subscription, (thats around 3 dollars).
I am one of the lucky ones who bought an iPhone on the day of release here in Washington DC area (July 11). I had to pre-order my phone and it arrived 3 days later. People who waited the next day (July 12) will now wait between 21 – 30 days for their phone. And the backlog keeps growing. I hope you guys get the iPhone out there in the Philippines sometime this year. I doubt. The inventory has depleted and more people here in the US (their largest market) want one and are not getting any. The new iPhone 3G is like no other. It’s unfortunate you guys pay a fortune for this. Why can’t Globe subsidize the price for you guys the way AT&T did ours, I wonder?
I believe that the iphone 3G will not be sold for less than 20 k here in the Philippines.
I hear you! And totally agree with how things are being promoted the cost for the 2nd gen iphone would equal the 1st iphone.
We still need to wait and see as what would happen, crossing my fingers that it would be affordable or rather reasonable.
its only 2 pesos in my neighborhood! .. bullshit!
