Here is another bad news for smokers: People who smoke are more at risk of dying from colon cancer than people who do not smoke at all. Men who smoke, for example, have 30% more chances of dying from the illness than men who do not smoke. Studies also show that women who smoke are also at risk because they are 40 percent more likely to get the illness than women who do not smoke.
There are several factors that can lead to colon cancer but simple changes in lifestyle may help curb one’s chances of being diagnosed with colon cancer. Having a healthy lifestyle such as eating fiber rich foods and getting into regular exercise routine may help as well as making the decision to stop smoking.
Colon cancer, also known as colorectal cancer is considered as one of the most common forms of cancer–and one of the deadliest. In the western world, colorectal cancer is the second leading cause of deaths that are related to cancer. Regular detoxification of the body through eating fiber rich food may also help decrease one’s chances of developing this disease.
