I’m still grumbling because parents were not allowed to see the starlab that visited my son’s school last week. Kulay told me he enjoyed the starlab presentation so I did some research to at least be able to relate to my son’s starlab experience.

What is Starlab?
Starlab is the first portable planetarium in the Philippines. It is an inflatable “bubble” dome that can hold a classroom of students at a time. The starlab presents basic astronomy via a 30 to 40 minute light and sound presentation using realistic projection on its totally dark interior dome. A “star guide” assists in identifying and locating celestial points and entertain questions from the viewers.

What’s Inside?
As I’ve already said, I wasn’t able to get to see and get inside of the starlab dome but  I found this image online. I still have to ask my son though if this is the same starlab dome that they got to see in school:
