So, hubby and I went to a hotel staying spree on our 6th anniversary. We wanted to stay in Grand Mandaya Hotel here in Davao City but unfortunately, the hotel is fully booked. Lesson learned: Book your stay in advance particularly if you want to stay in popular hotels on holidays and weekends. Make sure to book your stay in advance not only because you get the luxury of being able to stay in the hotel and room of your choice. Some hotels also provide discounted rates when you book online.

Anyway, we ended up staying at Davao City’s Apo View hotel. The hotel provides the amenities that you can expect from a first class hotel but some of these amenities seem to need an upgrade and more thorough maintenance. The front desk staffs are nice but not “warm” enough. Nevertheless, I feel that friendliness and warmth that I was expecting from other hotel staffs that we met in corridors and other areas of the hotel. My overall impression with Apo View? 3 stars out of 5.
