Good news to all google adsense publishers particularly those residing in the Philippines, a new option to receive google adsense earnings is now available: through Western Union Quick Cash service. I was checking my adsense earnings today when I saw this note from adsense:
Tired of waiting for your check payments? Try our new Western Union Quick Cash service which allows you to pick up your payment at a local Western Union branch. Sign up today!
Advantages
The best thing about using this payment option is that it is a lot safer than when you receive your cheque via postal mail. A number of adsense cheques sent via postal mail reportedly got lost. The western union option is also a lot faster. According to the adsense help center:
Payments will be available for pick up at your local Western Union Agent the day after they are sent according to our normal payment schedule.
If you will opt to receive your adsense earnings through Western Union, you must have a government issued ID that exactly matches your name (the payee) and the payout does not exceed $10,000. In the Philippines, however, the maximum payout is $2,000. The payment will also be issued in dollars but you can convert the payment to your local currency.
Transfer Fees
I am not yet sure though who will shoulder the transaction fee.It can be either Google Inc. or the publisher but since there is no “processing fee” note in the western union qucik cash option similar to the Check - Secured Express Delivery option, it is more likely that google will pay for the transaction. Google Inc. will also shoulder the transfer fees.
The Western Union payment quick cash option is available for google adsense publishers residing in the following countries:
* China (Mainland)
* Malaysia
* Pakistan
* Romania
* Philippines
* Argentina
* Chile
* Peru
* Colombia
