There was a time when I splurge just to own the latest cellphones but right now, I am just using a basic mobile phone given away by globe telecom for free. The reasons why I stopped spending much on cellphones are the following:

• - I realize that “investing” in the latest cellphone models in not such a good idea. It seems that nokia and even sony erricsson release new phone models everyday so your 20,000 peso cellphone will be worth less than 12,000 in less than six months.
• - It is unwise to spend much on such a small gadget especially if what make a cellphone expensive are functions that you can neither use. (I have an internet, why bother for a slower, paid by kb or by minute 3G connection? My digicam is also far better than most camphones).
• - There are far better things that I can spend with my money than making cellphone manufacturers richer. Rice is a lot more expensive these days….
