I was greatly irked by the statement given by Willie Revillame in response to an encouraged senate investigation on the alleged Wilyonaryo scam. “Hindi ko kailangan ang Senado, kayo [public] ang higit kong kailangan.

Is Willie Revillame saying he does not WANT any investigation because people are watching his show? Or because there are people who support him and believe there is no cheating in wowowee? If that is the case, Mr. Revillame should be reminded that no one is above the law in the Philippines. Former President Estrada himself who became Philippine President because people supported him was investigated, faced charges and (prematurely) judged guilty.

What people?

If Willie Revillame still believes that people think he is not guilty, he should not just look at the number of people who continue to try their “luck” in his afternoon show. Willie Revillame should consider that many people who go to his show are primarily there to bring some money to their family and not to show their support to him.

Who believes there is no cheating in wowowee?

Willie Revillame should check out comments in blogs and forums to see what people areĀ  thinking. If there is indeed no cheating in the show, Willie Revillame should not hide behind people’s back. He should be ready to explain and participate in eradicating the notion among people that his show is a cheat.

Good thing the DTI will conduct an investigation after the organization Tanglaw ng Bayan urged the DTI and the Senate to probe the alleged rigging of the Wilyonaryo game.
