Women and sewing
Believe it or not, I was schooled in a girls school for 10 years but I was never able to learn how to sew using a sewing machine. I remembered having sewing projects but we do them by hand. There are also those cross stitch projects that I really hate doing. (Despite the popularity of cross stitch a few years ago, I can only marvel at those Michelangelo and mona lisa cross stitch works but I never wanted to do them myself).
Because I really hate sewing and I do not have any idea how those sewing machine works, I look for somebody to sew our clothes when they get torn. Unfortunately, there is this woman who charged so much for her service she might have thought I am Imelda Marcos. I never returned to her again.
There was also this woman who, upon learning that I do not sew exclaimed that I might not by qualified of being called a woman because I do not know how to sew. Excuse me!!!!!! At least I can be more efficient than some of the men I know. Heck, I even earn more than most men that I am surrounded with these days. What is the big fuss about women not knowing how to sew?
